Organizing is our bread and butter service and the reason we started Vision & Hammer. Our team of professional organizers sort through the chaos and clutter to create maintainable and well-designed spaces that simplify your life. The result is less stress, more time for the things you love, and a space that you'll want to come home to everyday. We’ve rounded up some of the most common questions we receive regarding our organizing services.
HOW MUCH SHOULD I EXPECT TO SPEND ON MY ORGANIZING PROJECT?
There is a wide range depending on the current condition of the space(s) and how much organizing needs to take place. An average size pantry can take anywhere between 6-10 hours depending on several factors (i.e. decanting spices into custom jars, adding vinyl cut labels, washing dry-goods canisters for decanted foods). Most organizing projects, whether just one space or a combination of a few spaces, take at least 4-5 hours. Organizing materials are entirely optional but highly recommended for the maintaining the organized spaces over a long period of time.
WILL THE ORGANIZERS HAUL AWAY MY TRASH & DONATIONS?
Depending on the size and quantity of item(s), we will either coordinate a donation pick-up or the organizers will take the item(s) in their personal vehicles to the relevant donation site. Any time spent coordinating separate contractors for pick-ups and/or dropping items will be billed at the hourly rate for organizing.
DO I NEED TO BE HOME DURING THE ORGANIZING?
We do not require that you be home at any point during the organizing process. We pride ourselves on establishing a trusting relationship with our clients, and we typically work independently of your schedule. We know that your time is precious, so we prefer to let you go about your day-to-day life while we get to work! We'll send over a detailed organizing questionnaire before we begin so we can ensure we understand all of your preferences.
HOW LONG DO PROJECTS TYPICALLY TAKE?
Timing varies depending on the scope of the project. Smaller spaces such as pantries can take between 6-10 hours, whereas large spaces, such as full kitchens or garages could take 25-30. We always keep clients updated with our progress and require a questionnaire is completed before we begin the project to ensure we understand our client’s preferences.
CAN I USE ORGANIZING MATERIALS I ALREADY OWN?
Yes, of course! We’ll always let you know if what you own isn’t a good fit for the space or if it makes the organizing less effective, but we allow clients to use any or all of their own materials if they prefer that over new.
DO YOU OFFER REFUNDS?
All materials are fully refundable as long as they are indicated to the organizer on the final day of the project. Pre-payments and hours worked are non-refundable, but we are happy to pause or stop organizing at any time during the project and make changes as needed.
WHAT ALL IS EXPECTED OF ME (THE CLIENT) PRIOR TO ORGANIZING?
We ask that the client ensures the following has been addressed prior to our team getting started:
Designated spaces have been lightly tidied and all personal and valuable items have been set aside
Preferences regarding trash and donations have been communicated
Preferences regarding organizing materials have been communicated
Any specific requests regarding storage locations have been communicated
Any specific requests regarding organizing techniques (example: folded vs. hanging) have been clearly communicated
WHAT ALL IS EXPECTED OF ME (THE CLIENT) UPON COMPLETION OF ORGANIZING?
Any unwanted organizing materials are decided on and clearly communicated prior to Vision & Hammer leaving the property, otherwise are considered non-refundable.
Payment for all organizing materials and hours worked within 72-hours of receipt of invoice!
